A folder containing log files of Distributed Capture document storage activity is available on the computer where Distributed Capture is installed. Complete the steps below to view the log files.
In Distributed Capture, click Tools > Configure.
Copy the location from the Log location field by highlighting the text in the field and pressing Ctrl + C.
Open the Windows search field by clicking the Windows Start menu. Then paste the location of the folder in the Windows search field by clicking in the field and pressing Ctrl + V.
Open the log folder and double-click the log files to view them.
Notes:
A file is created each day you store documents with Distributed Capture. Each file remains in the Logs folder for 60 days, and then the file is deleted.
A log file contains an entry for each document that you stored (or attempted to store) in Fusion ECM on a certain day. A log entry contains the following data:
Date and time the file was processed
Location of the upload folder where the file was temporarily retained until it was stored
File name of the FSDIZip file, which consists of the user name of the person who stored the file, the date stamp, and the .fsdizip file extension
Status of the attempt to store – uploaded successfully or failed to upload
An example of log file data is shown below.
